January 210 January 13, 2010 Dear Cyber Friends & Family, As this New Year unfolds, may this find each of you be enjoying the richest of God’s blessings on your life and ministry. Each of you has had a part already in the ministry here because of your prayers and gifts. We rejoice in the Lord’s protection for three of our men in Suntracs that were recently involved in potential life threatening situations. Peregrino was walking downtown recently when someone ran by him. Immediately the pursuing police opened fire on the suspect with Peregrino in the middle! Thankfully, he was not injured, but certainly was shook up. Jefferson recently returned from Spain where he spent the last three years finishing up his high school. He was out witnessing after the Wednesday night service just a couple of weeks ago to a young man of probably questionable character. While Jefferson was sharing the message a third individual came up with a hand gun and shot the young man that Jefferson was witnessing to in the head and then shot Jefferson in the leg at the knee. All of this took place in front of Edith’s house, another very faithful church member. Thankfully, Jefferson’s injury did not require surgery or hospitalization. He was able to bring the message he had prepared for our special end of the year service. Your prayers had a part in each of these situations. Finally, Adán was driving his taxi home at the end of the day. Within 75 feet of his house, he was stopped at gunpoint. With the weapon pointed at his temple, he was relieved of his money and anything else that the young thief thought he could use or sell. The first of two camps is now a recent memory for those who went. Your gifts played an important part in this. Because of your giving, several were able to go that would not have had the resources. Christian was a last minute substitute for someone who couldn’t go. He made a profession of faith during the week. Please pray for his spiritual growth. Pray for other decisions that were made in the area of Christian character and conduct. As the new year moves forward, there is still one more camp to go with VBS sandwiched in between. We would ask you to pray for all of the summer activities. Thank you for your willingness to be a part of the work here in tough times there. Your labors with us here in Panama are greatly appreciated. We count it a privilege that we serve together for the souls of men and women, boys and girls here at the Crossroads of the World.
